audi a4 1.8t belt tensioner replacement
Great! Video! Thanks a lot for your time and knowledge 😎
Does it get old fast, breathing the soot I mean? Mines dumped underneath and the soot comes out the drivers side towards the ground
Now drive in the mountains on the weekend. You'll encounter this guy 🚴♂️
Thank you for this. I'm concerned that I might have a bad head gasket on my Protege so it's good to know how accessible it is. It doesn't look too bad but it looks like you need the means to take the engine block out of the car.
Doing the same swap on my 03 gl and just got the 1.8t out of the junk gti I’m exited to get to work on the swap
how do I resync the camshaft and the crankshaft on a 2002 Mazda protege MP5
Im planning to have mk4 golf 2.0 and Im driving polo mk4 1.8t.
Nice video. Can I do this in a nissan sentra b16 from 4 lug to 5 lug?
Really wish someone would show how to take thi gs off with a good camera step by step all the way apart
Thanks!
Couldn't understand a word you were saying mumbling. No mention of unplugging it. Lack of room makes it very difficult to remove understandably why you had the engine on a stand btw most engines are not that clean. Camera work was horrendous. Tilt down so we can see.
Mumbling? I understood every word this guy said. Having it on a stand helps with knowing where all the bolts are. Other videos with the engine in the car just used a shaky phone with the guy saying something like "that bolt there" while showing a maze of hoses and wires. Wait, what, where? Combining this video with those others gives a good overview.
An Abomination of a car
How did you do with the 81-pin connector on the ecu? im change 1.8t AUQ engine, but the ecu connector is different
Was that 2 different pph Injectors?
Never use a torque wrench to loosen bolts! Good vid beaides that!
Oh Nevermind! I can't change the diaper from the 🐂 💩 you just said 😂
How did you wire it up
I would like to see a video explaining the leak detection process. Thanks.
Dude hell yea, thanks for going a video on it. 6year after and your still a such big help
I'll put my blow there from now on thanks
Appreciate it man im fixing to do mine! I have a sunroof
*doing it while the engine is in the car* Follow the first steps, jack ur car up and you’ll have better access to bottom bolt for alternator remove tensioner bolt completely for now and move the alternator back and forth untils it’s off, it will not fit thru the bottom so you’re gonna have to pull it thru the hoses and everything, once u got ur new alternator position it right where it will fall in cus there’s no space putting in the alternator so ur gonna have to just be careful but squeeze it in there get bottom bolt in first from the bottom and don’t forget to remove passenger wheel you can position the alternator with both ur hands from those access points and wiggle the bolt in and a impact can fit to remove the 14 mill bolt so I used an impact due to lack of space to break the bolt loose and tighten but don’t tighten too much then put tensioner back and that’s how I did it today
Where can I buy the mod at?
Thanks bro, can't believe how easy that was!
That's a good way to have too high EGTs and melt some internals... Dummy
Great video‼️
What did he use to lock the wheel to undo the wheel
Is there opportunity to swap 1.8 tsi into jetta mk7 1.4 is it possible??
So the 1.8t power steering pump works on the 12v. I’m assuming it would work on the 24v as well right? Also is the tdi pressure hose absolutely needed to use the 1.8t power steering pump?
Thank you for the tip on the visor to push in and then spin it
where i can find that exaust header bro
What all did you do for the wiring? Did you change the ecu and whole engine harness?
Keep working bro more videos man 💯
That intake manifold is still filthy with oils and other contamination. All the oils and gases left in the casting are going to out-gas under the paint. And the oils will allow the paint to delaminate.
You two are fools. That's not a short shifter, you just shortened the shifter handle. A short shifter raises the fulcrum/pivot point.
Is this the same with a 05 vw beetle its a 2.0 with a 5speed manual
would pulling both axles mess up the trans ? i’ve heard that somewhere
I pulled a CV axle out of the transmission once and the snap ring broke off inside. Had to take the trans apart to fish it out. Ever since, I leave the end attached to the transmission and simply disconnect it at the boot. Disconnect the struts from the wheel hub, and pull it out as far as you can. Sometimes they wont pull all the way out, you have to start lifting the engine, then they will fall out. Remember to pause when re-installing the engine where you can slide the axles back into their socket. I just use zip ties on the boots and toss a dab of moly grease in each socket.
How do I solve the problem of turbo leaking pressure. I drive Audi A4, 2008 model
I purchased and Evergreen head gasket set for a Lexus. The gasket set came with most gaskets but 4 rubber seals which are typically called gaskets, we're not in the kit. The 4 rubber seals that were missing were the two figure-eight type seals that are used to supply oil to the VVT on both Bank 1 and bank 2. The Lexus has to drop the two oil pans in order to remove the timing cover. Kit I received from Evergreen via an Amazon supplier, came with two different types of oil pan gaskets. It was unexpected however one oil pan gasket was for a two wheel drive and the other gasket was for a all-wheel drive. The kid was not supplied with a list of any kind even though the Amazon description said a list of the seals and gaskets comes with the kit. I did contact the company on the internet. Evergreen did not reply even after 2 months. Evergreen is the kind of company that will sell to a Automotive supplier but does not sell directly to the public. They do not seem to respond to any types of emails from purchasers of their products. The website has a very minimum explanation of its use of materials on either the MLS gasket set or the plain single sheet steel. It does not guarantee any type of coating comes on any of their gaskets that I can tell. What it does say on their website is its manufactured with the highest grade material. And design with better than OEM standards. I believe many things on their website are left to assume that their quality materials are made the same as other manufacturers. Yes they're made in America and that's one reason I did purchase. Looking closely at the head gaskets that came for the Lexus, looking very closely looks like a graphite coating however it possibly could be just flat paint. As I said I did contact the manufacturer asking questions about the gasket set but received no replies. Gaskets that were included with the Lexus head gasket set or as follows: most all the gaskets for the valve cover and spark plug seals, valve seat seals (16) for upper valve body, Rubber seal sets for fuel injectors. The Lexus has 12 fuel injectors on the dual injector models. Plastic spacer gaskets and I believe they were meant to be used on the valve cover also but that would be for the hold down screws on top of the valve cover. Manifold gaskets only for the manifold to head section. The adjacent joining pipes for each side did not include those gaskets. No gaskets for oxygen sensors which may not be required. All gaskets required for timing cover except the outer timing cover itself. These type timing covers are meant to videos with gray are RTV only the kit did come with gray rtv. Also came with two high pressure gas pump gasket / seal which are mounted on top of the valve cover. The kit came with several pressure washers. The washers were designed for banjo bolts that are mounted on each side of the Lexus to supply oil to the vvts. It came with several orange gaskets and I haven't figured out what they were for. It did not come with head bolts. It did come with a additional water pump gasket and it looks to be high quality.
I have a 2001 Mazda protege I saw someone in the comment saying they were having problems with the join on the axle will I have problems to or is a straight swap with the whole spindle
You can use some Velcro tape on the inside to hold it down and it won’t be a pain to remove
Hey mate I’ve got a question, why do we have to bleed the power steering fluid? Just a little confused, are the fluid lines connected to the motor or something
If he can do it one handed I can do it with two 💅
If the timing candy gears are 180° out would cause no compression to cylinders
Estoy por reemplazar el motor en mi 2003 Mazda protege5 y los mecánicos me quieren cobrer más de lo que vale el carro, aparentemente lo puedo hacer yo, gracias por mostrar que no es tan difícil
I’ve done the same swap as you but I cannot work out for the life of me where the Evap hoses route too could u maybe do a video on this or pm me a video because I cannot work it out cheers ?
gotta hit a dent out from the inside of my 03, thank you for the tutorial
Would i have to drain oil to take the head off or can i just drain after?
Upon engine swapping it, did u have to replace the ECU? Because I am currently swapping a 2.0 from a 2001 Golf to a 1.8T of a 2001 Beetle would I have to replace the ECU?
did you figure it out?
This is what I did with my WRX. Cut it as low as possible. You reduce the angle you need to move your hand so it does make shifts quicker and shorter. Don't listen to the naysayers this works a treat. I loved it.
Awesome video bro. I wanna swap my 2.0 as well. This video is gonna make it easier. Stay blessed!
